I’ve been shooting for most of my life and have spent time behind a lot of different firearms over the years. Without question, this Guncrafter Industries .50 GI Model 1 is my favorite firearm I’ve ever owned. The action is incredibly smooth, the trigger breaks like glass, and it’s far more controllable than most people would expect from such a large round. The fit and finish are exceptional, and the moment you pick it up, you can immediately tell how much care and craftsmanship went into building it. It’s an absolute joy to shoot and a firearm I genuinely appreciate more every time I take it to the range.

Full disclosure, I *may* have had something to do with creating this newest fan of GI. Kellen is family and when he says he's been behind a lot of firearms, it's no exaggeration. In front of a bunch, too. In the last few years I'll just say he's had more "choice" in which firearms he gets behind.

Kellen, you have there one of the last pre-Wilson GI's. We won't know if that means anything until after some years with GI being part of Wilson Combat.

After a few years of drifting away I hope Wilson is back on track. Internet rumor mill says that Bill is back at the helm.

Got a chance to shoot a 50GI both in a standard 1911 and some crazy comped creation by our guy Ned… something build with a wild delrin comp for something know as “space gun division”. Both were a pleasure to shoot.

Then I shot a GI in 45 super. Another first. Sheesh… my hands didn’t like that much. Apparently my brain and ears didn’t either as I quickly found myself with a minor case of the “flitchy’s” after running a mag or two out of it, ha.

So a .45 Super is more beastly than a .50 GI? I've never had the opportunity to try a 50. I did put together a .45 Super for a buddy a few years back. It was comped so not sure how it compares to an uncomped gun.
