I have a CA approved Wilson CQB with titanium firing pin. I've heard, but have not experienced, that titanium firing pins can be prone to light primer strikes. True or false?

I'm using one as a primary ccw gun and if there's a potential problem, I'd love to hear about it BEFORE Murphy's Law comes into play! Thanks.

It's not the firing pin as much as it is the firing pin spring. I don't know about Wilsons but Springfield Armory is using a titanium firing pin with a really strong firing pin return spring to pass the CA drop test. On those pistols that get light firing pin strikes, replacing the spring with a Wolff heavy duty firing pin spring seems to take care of the problem.

My Springfield has a titanium fp, a wolff XP firing pin spring and a 19 pound wolff main spring and I have never in (5000 rounds) had a light hit on a primer.

It has been so reliable that I never once have given a thought until now and even then it doesn't concern me. YMMV. Bare in mind I only use quality factory ammo so that may have a lot to do with it then again if I was going to bet my life on a gun I wouldn't pack hand loads.

Any one think replacing the Titanium firing pin MAY cause legal or liability headaches if I ever had to use it or if I dropped the gun and it fires? Would this be considered "disabling a safety device" in CA's twisted laws?

Does anyone know where I can find titanium firing pins that will drop into Kimbers? Someone who reviewed Springfield Armory's titanium firing pin said that it had a smaller diameter than the Kimber original and fit too loosely.
