Well a month or so ago someone posted about a drawing that was going on Park Cities Tactical Forum for a Colt 1911 Officers model built by Ray Harms, see link below. Well against my better judgement I sent my $100.00 off and participated in the drawing. Well the good fortune is that I won the pistol. I have done what I believe it was built for, shot it a few times(approximately 300 rounds of Winchester RA45T). The thing is absolutely wonderfull. I am still waiting for a holster for it and then I will carry it quite often. During the time I spent at the range, my co-workers gave me grief about the Ivory grips and I kind of agree with them. Well living kind of close to Larry Davidson, I emailed him earlier this week and ordered a pair of the 4x4 thin grips, well Larry called me today and said the grips were ready. I plan on picking them up tomorrow. Once I pick them up I'll post some new pictures of the pistol with the Davidson grips.

Depmur,

I'm glad you like the pistol and are actually shooting it. That IS what it was made for.

The ivories are a personal taste thing. Do whatever you like best.

Best,

Ray

P.S.: Check your email.

I figure it was made to be shot, I only have two safe queens at this time and they are quite a bit older than me...

WAY nice snag. I was in on that raffle, too. I was heartbroken when I didn't win (actually the guy who I gave the raffle ticket was heartbroken).

Ivories rock. They belong on beautiful guns like whitewalls on old Cadillacs. :D
