Greetings from Arkansas! Just joined this forum (great place) and thought I'd introduce myself to the membership with some pics of the last pistol I've finished.
It's an Operator that's ready to return home. This saga started as a Reliability Package/Trigger Job and, as you'll see, took on a life of its own. :D Trigger components were replaced with C&S parts, pull set at 4.0 lbs. A new rear sight was fit to correct the point of aim/impact that seems to plague many Springers. Rear sight is plain, the front has a Tritium insert. I fit an EGW bushing and recrowned the barrel. This pistol is very accurate now with the factory barrel. The S&A magwell was recontoured at the heel and blended to the frame opening. The front strap is high cut and was serrated by Chuck Rogers. I installed a Brown extended mag release after modifying it to prevent overtravel and trapping magazines. A Brown beavertail and thumb safety were fit and blended. A bent plunger tube was replaced along with the side stop. The factory extractor was ditched and a new one was fit and tuned.THEN I dehorned the pistol and refinished it; Enviro-Tech over Parkerizing. I'm sure I'm forgetting something... Funny how these little jobs seem to grow! Hope you enjoy looking!

Bob, it is GREAT to have a man of your talent here, welcome aboard and keep up the awesome 'smithing! Thanks for sharing more cool pics...

Just an FYI, Brian and Bailey insist on this bizarre initiation ritual thing...all I can say is, don't worry, the whipped cream will eventually wash out of your hair

Bob,
That is a great looking Operator. Details, details... Glad you made it over.

Stan didn't quite get it all out. The whip cream also involves an outhouse, and the women from the Last Call lounge in Little Rock. Just something Tim Brian and I came up with on our last trip through Arkansas. You actually might enjoy it, if you do then you absolutely belong here. :P

Seriously, glad you are aboard and sharing the snaps.

Let me just say that I am honored to be the owner of that custom Operator and I thank Bob for being so patient with all my questions on the phone and emails concerning this project. Chuck, much thanks on the wonderful frontstrap serrations and high cut under the trigger guard. The Envirotech finish has more sheen than Black-T that resembles the HK finish on their MP5s. I must have spent a good 15 minutes admiring workmanship on the gun before putting it in my safe. Bob's attention to detail is uncanny and the fitting and the blending of the Brown beavertail is perfect. The pictures don't do the Springer any justice and I wish Bob had taken a closeup picture of the beavertail. The gun had a chipped beavertail, shot 6 inches low @ 25yrds and had a slightly curved plunger tube from the factory and instead of sending it back to SA, I sent it to Bob to work his magic and it was well worth the 4 month wait. That gun shoots 1.5inches @ 25yrds with the factory barrel on 200gr. LSWC.
