Thought this gun was worth another look, do wish I owned it. But I guess the fact that it stays safely put at my shop is good enough, for now. :)

I kinda have a thing for 10mm 1911s, and Deltas just do it for me. That gun is the reason I pulled my Delta off the "for sale" list and decided to finish it right. I have 4 built 10mm 1911s right now, another Delta that's box-stock and waiting for something to make me send it off, all the parts for another Caspian longslide 10mm, and I'm working on collecting the parts for a Caspian 5". The 5" I am planning will be very "militaristic" in style.

The more I see the guns coming from Yo-Bo, the more my tastes are moving back to "simple & traditional." I have what I think is going to turn out to be a really special project at Yo-Bo right now, and I can't wait 'til the day when I get the call asking to confirm a shipping address. I think I have a while for that though.

Ted, that Delta is exceptional. I wish I could run a few hundred rounds through it.

Thank for taking us back, Jason. You're a lucky man.

~Jim Keeney

BTW - What do YOU shoot in your 10mm 1911s? You being any 10mm fan on this forum.

You can get mountains of pretty good 10mm ammo from GeorgiaArms.com for the same or less than most factory .45 ACP. But to really get the most out of it you need to handload, more so than most other cartridges. If you want a really accurate load, try KEAD 175gr LSWC bullets and AA#7 powder.

Man, that is one beautiful Delta Elite. I'll bet it shoots better than it looks, too.

Double Tap makes some hot 10mm. I like their 180 grain Gold Dots.

My box of 10mm parts just opened its lid and called out at me!

I can tell you without reservation this is a beautiful shooting gun. We shot this one before the last Shot Show and after one magazine I was just smiling like an idiot. I have a thing for hard chromed guns. Until working at the shop I was never really into 10mm's until Theo did this one and a second Delta which he just finished. Oops did I say that out loud?

Great gun, and nice pics Jason. BTW, where did you get purple velvet, is that your couch? Purple velvet, a bottle of Courvoisier, and some gold toofs and you is pimpin' Yo. Nevermind, you have that stuff. :?

That gun is inspiring to say the least. That is what I hate about this site. I had little to no interest in custom firearms before coming here. Now, I don't think that I will ever be able to get enough. I have been bit by the custom bug. And to think that I haven't got my 1st one bact from it's trip to Arizona

I had an opportunity to see this one in person at Ted's shop. Pictures do no do it justice.

This particular 10mm is truly a work of art and a sight to behold. It is the absolute best rendition of the Delta Elite that I have ever seen or handled. I am turning into somewhat of a 10mm junky myself with a tweaked 10mm Dan Wesson in the safe, a 10mm Witness on the way and a 10mm Longslide Glock 20 custom build in progress. I am also in the research and parts-gathering stage for a Caspian-based 10mm CCO. Right now, most of my 10mm shooting is with PMC 200 grain ball, but I am in the brass-hoarding stage of the reloading cycle. Once I get some brass built up and get some dies, I will be working out a practice load that will push a 180 or 200 grain FMJ at around 1150-1200 fps. Social obligations and factory HPs will be covered by McNett's terrific Double Tap stuff. I am REAL curious to see what Double Tap's top-end stuff will do in a Commander-length CCO. I'll bet it will be a rip-snorter!

Thanks for the review. Very nice.

I like 10mms too, but am 10-less right now. When I wasn't, I carried Winchester 175 Silvertips in mine, and shot bowling pins with an 800X handload.

This is quite possibly THE 10mm! I really enjoyed the pictures this time around. They make a nice comparison to the ones with the black grips. Any chance of seeing some test target pictures?

What brand of barrel is that?

Great job! Keep it up.
