what options do I have for a LS frame, I like to find one with the dust cover that is flush or inch back from the end of the slide. I looked on caspian website and dont see any extended frames but they sell the slide.

Experts please help me out if you know of a LS frame source.

I like the STI (dont really care for the trigger gaurd) but they dont sell the frame seperately. I'm looking to have a SL built in a 10mm

I've got two longslides built on Caspian frames and slides and another two on the way in the form of parts. I tried to get an STI also and they wouldn't sell just the frame, which I do not understand at all. You might be able to use a Baer monolith (can't remember if Caspian makes a long dustcover) frame and get Caspian to cut the slide with the shorter front end cuts... or get it as a slabside slide and have your gunsmith mill the cuts. I assume you are doing this for personal preference/looks, and I agree with you in that department. From a lot of personal experience with the 10mm and all sorts of slides, I have found that a longslide in 10mm is the way to go if you want to shoot a lot of full tilt ammo or hunt. If you want a REALLY soft shooter, build a slabside with a bull barrel and tungsten guide rod. That same setup in my 5" Caspian/Para Lmited gun allows me to shoot any ammo I want and not even put a mark on my shok buff using an 18# recoil spring. I can use a 16# spring with factort Federal Am Eagles and it won't even lock the slide to the rear. Kinda cool if ya ask me. My commander sized 10mm... different story.

SV makes a longslide/longframe, with the added inch in the middle, rather than at the end. The slide/frame rails are an inch longer than standard. I don't know if they sell the parts, or if you must buy a complete gun.

SVI does not sell their single stack 1911 frames as frames only, you must buy the entire gun from them. I was in the same boat (10mm Longslide) and they said no dice on frame only

I just reread my post and realized that I typed STI originally when I meant SV. The longslide single stack with the extra long frame rails is what I meant to say... my fault. And just to echo the last post, they don't sell them as components. Kinda sad, as I think they'd be a great addition to the custom 1911 parts world. Those oddball shaped slides they do would be kinda cool, too. Oh well.

I may have to check out Baer monolith. any other option
Yes Jim I am doing this for personal preference/looks, Im looking for a look that doesnt stick out more than a inch from the dust cover. or flush with the barrel. But at this point open to anything
