I thought you might like to see some photos of the beatiful Browning High Power that Ray Harms built just for ME!!

This is what he did to it:
Strip hardchrome
High-cut front strap
Stipple front strap
Stipple rear strap
Bevel magwell
Mag disconnect removed
Trigger reset modification to .090 travel
Trigger job with C&S sear and Type II hammer
Welded on beavertail
Rear end of gun blended smooth
Flat top of slide and serrate at 40 LPI
Heinie front sight with gold line
Heinie rear sight (wrapped to slide contour, reserrated, notch opened to
.140)
Recrown barrel
Reliability tune (included taking hump out of feed)
Custom extended thumb safety
Complete dehorn
Spegel grips (Cocobolo)
Satin matte bead blast
Blued finish

I sent him a Silver Chrome HP and this is what it looked like (at least with my photography :) ) when I got it back:

Nice one, Matt!! Ray does good stuff.

Nice holster, too. Who made it? JUST KIDDING, JUST KIDDING

I need to call you about a little something for a HP myself. I'm headed out to Gettysburg for the re-enactment, I'll holler at you when I get back home.

Stay safe.

Chip

Matt,

Enjoy it in good health. It was built by a friend, for a friend.

Best,

Ray

Very nice, Matt! Thanks for sharing!
I actually got to check this piece out a few times in it's various stages of development. Impressive work, Ray!

A little bit of kydex on that holster, eh...

Thanks all! Especially you Ray!

Chip: Are you part of the Re-inactment?

Mark: I use a little kydex here and there for a few things that leather can't do. You can see al little more of the hoslter here:

That is one nice BHP. I have one coming from YoBo crowd in the near future. I got lucky and scored a set of the NIL grips for the gun.

Enjoy as we know you will

Very nice indeed. I especially like the angle on the thumb safety. It appears very functional and might help those of us who like to keep a high-thumb hold on semi-autos. Enjoy.

Matt,
I'm not Chip nor do I play him on TV but since I think he is gone already I'll answer for him. He is a Civil War Re-enactor.
Al

Matt-

Al is correct. I am a re-enactor, but not the military kind. (I got my fill of marching in the heat with a rifle and pack and sleeping on the ground in a tent when I was in the Marines) I do a civilian impression (Hezekiah T. Witherspoon) and perform period satirical and comedic "stump speeches" along with a bit of period "snake oil" show. I normally perform as part of a musical groups show and I have for the last few years had the distinct honor of appearing with the 2nd South Carolina Recimental Band, of "Gods and Generals" fame.

My business card reads:

Hon. Hezekiah T. Witherspoon, Esq.
Professor of Phrenology & Reknownd Elocutionist

Prodigious Producer & Purveyor of
Dr. Klein’s Great Nerve Restorer
Dr. Klein’s Erasive Soap
and
Witherspoon’s Guide to Financial Prosperity

It's not like having a talent to build holsters or guns and it certainly provides no income, but I have fun with it. And besides, my wife likes to "dress up" in the period women's fashions.

Sorry to get off topic and detract from the comments on your excellent HP.

Chip

Nice looking Hi-Power. I have been going through Hi-power withdrawls since mine decided its time had come. I was going to replace it with a 9MM/38 Super 1911 for ESP but I am having a hard time letting go. :D

Chip, sorry I missed you in Gettysburg. I had the wife and kids there over the weekend.
