I'm thinking of picking up a Lightweight Commander as a carry gun and then, once I know what I want/need, to have it lightly customized. Unfortunately, the only one that I've seen NIB rattled like a drum. This has been a while ago and I was wondering if anyone had seen the new production runs?

I have an XSE Light Weight Commander.

I bought new about two years ago. It is as tight as any good production gun--S&W, Kimber, Springfield.

The changes that I would make are:

1. New grip safety.
2. Re-throat barrel and chamber.
3. Dehorn.
4. Install Metal Main Spring Housing.

Mine doesn't run well on re-loads (my re-loads). The case deminsions need to be close to new factory ammo. It runs perfactly well on factory FMJ ball ammo.

I have only taken it to the range twice -- maybe 300 rounds.

I like it and if I ever do the items I listed above, I will like it alot more.
