The Delta slide I bought has a very small stamp on it. At first I thought it was damage but under magnification it's a proof stamp of some kind. Can anyone ID this?

I don't claim to be an authority on proofmarks and such, but what I see in the pic just looks like a cosmetic flaw, like a ding. I've never seen any proofs on Delta slides. This is below and to the rear of the ejection port, right?

Hmmm. Sure looks like a poorly-stamped German proof mark to me.

Yes, that were it's at.
If a flaw can it be filled in smoothed and reblued?

Indeed. What on Earth is it doing on the slide of a Delta? :?

Just a guess. Maybe sold in Germany at a MWR Rod & Gun Club to a US service member, then brought home to next duty assignment?

I recieved this info from a gentleman in a PM.

During my last tour in Germany the Heidleberg Rod and Gun Club was still selling firearms to members. Some of the weapons that they had there were made here in the United States (there were not many of them.) To meet the German firearms regulations all weapons sold there must have been proofed by the German Government. The proofs that I did see were stamped on the outside of the slide behind the ejection port. However there was also as second stamp on the barrel itself. That might have been a newer rule because the Germans were really tightening up on the sale and possestion of fire arms when I was there last and the restrictions were tempering the sale of all pistols so it might have been limited to that time period 2002-2003...but it sure does look like a proof to me.
