I can understand why they would want to duplicte the classic Detonics styling, but they oughtta offer the options of metal removed from under the trigger guard and grip safety tang. This would modernize it a bit without making it "not a Detonics", and honestly, would make it twice as viable as a mini .45 (in this version it would also have a sight without the thumbcocking ramp).
And thin grips. Your best bet is to thin-up the existing ones, then you'll have to re-counterbore the back side. Shorten the bushings and screws and you're ready to go.
The one New Detonics I've seen was.... impressive. To be honest I was all ready for it to be a poorly put together, capitalize-on-the-name-and-screw-quality, piece. What I saw was some real-deal quality and fitting, it was a very pleasant surprise.
