I picked up the annual Custom Combat Handguns magazine today. Inside was a 5 page spread on a 1911 that Steve built for Mike Detty. The pistol use's a Caspian frame with a Colt 1991 slide. Heine's, Wilson Barrel, CMC beavertail, C&S ignition, yada yada. Very nice pistol Steve, and Congratulations.

Sorry it took so darn long to make it to print. Unfortunately I traded the gun for a Lorcin .380. I'll drop it by on my next visit-I'd like you to checker it for me, OK?

Seriously, for a guy in the gun business you learn not to get attached to guns. That pistol, that started off as a bunch of parts in my gunshow bin, is one my heirs will inherit. I probably don't shoot it as much as I should because it is so nice!

I remember that one....

Mike, hang on to it. it's the first gun Steve finished in our shop. It was actually started the same time as a Colt, but he wanted to checker the Colt, and it took a bit longer to finish
