The Fed. Ex man rang my doorbell at 8:30 this morning and delivered a package that I ordered last year. And for all you out there that don't know if you want to wait on a custom gun "just do it". When you see the finished product you will wonder why you even thought about not waiting to get exactly what you wanted and in my case much more than I had anticipated.
The very first time that I came to this website someone had pictures of a LW Colt with ivory grips on it that a Mr. Yost had done. It was without a doubt the best looking gun that I had ever seen. I then picked up the phone and called Mr. Yost and told him that I knew very little about pistols as I was a shotgun man but that I had to have one of those guns. He asked me the questions that he needed to ask a novice and we decided on a new 70 series for the base gun. He asked if I wanted anything in particular and I said you build like you would want it and it will suit me.
When Jason called and said he was shipping it I was surprised as it was coming ahead of the time frame that we had talked about. Dealing with shotgun people you are always behind the time frame. that you talked about. Jason also promised me some pictures to share.
To Ted and all the people at YoBo THANKS.

The guys at the Yo-Bo shop are top notch. I was throughly suprised at how professional and helpful they were. I have another pistol awaiting its trip to AZ this time to Ted's bench.

Jason, you're off the hook and Vito has other things to do.
Did you do the photo work?? I knew you were getting a lot better.

That is pretty close to how all of my carry guns are set up.
Very slick.

J.S.,

I'm glad that you like the pistol. It was fun making it for you.

Best,

Ray

very nice ride.

on your slide release, on the bottom, are the design lines functional or cosmetic?

also, on your front sight, the gold bar.......is that for low light or just to find the front sight quicker?

Ray Harms has done some initial work on my series 70 fat horse, but I am going to use it in a match in April 06, then back to Ray for cosmetic completion.

Ray, still have not forgot.

MH,

The gold line front sight was a concept that Ted came up with that I like alot. Human eyes line up things vertically faster than horizontally. For the majority, a vertical line is easier/faster to line up than three dots. The 24K gold which we use in the front sight, really does assist greatly to attract youreye to the front sight (especially in low light).

The slide stop treatment is designed to be functional and cosmetic at the same time. It looks cool with no serrations on top and serrations added to the bottom. However, it is really designed to be functional. The removal of the top serrations is to encourage the "slingshot" method of releasing the slide. Bottom slide stop serrations assist in reassembly of the gun. You can maintain a firm purchase and avoid the "idiot" scratch when reassembling.

Best,

Ray

thanks for the info Ray I did not even notice the top side of the slide release. :D

is that for in a stressfull event, the gross motor skill of the slingshot method would prevail over finding your slide release with a thumb, a fine motor skill?

That's the general idea. Using the slingshot method will also work on virtually any semi-auto handgun, whereas many pistols have slide releases in different locations.
