Towards the end of last year Ted and Lew and I sat around the shop tossing ideas back and forth at just how we could improve on our products. The conversation ranged from sights, to ignition sets, to safeties, to even holsters but soon enough we began to re-examine the 1* packages. For sure the 1* has become a mainstay at the shop and without question it’s the gun people ask us about the most, and with good reason. The guns simply work, are a proven formula, and we believe offer the end user some of the best dollar to gun value around. So how could we make these packages better, how about offering more for the same money?

The one thing we all decided that the 1* and 1* Enhanced needed was a front strap treatment so we decided to add serrations to the list of mods’. The guns leaving the shop now will all have front straps that look something like this...

For the 1* Elites which already get a serrated front strap they’ll now receive a hand fit frame and slide.

One last bit of good news comes in the sight department, the shooters of these guns now have a choice between the Novak sights already available on the 1* series as well as our new Professional Grade sights while still retaining the “1*” logo as seen here...

Pretty good stuff if you ask me...

I agree with the upgrades. :)

The two carry 1911s that I got from you guys about 4 or 5 months ago were 1* Elite with your sights (triium inserts too) included. As always the quality of the work and the pics is incredible.

Jason-

I'm sure that y'all gave considerable thought to this subject, but really, the only true way that these pistols could be improved would be to send each one to Virginia where Al and I could drool on 'em, shoot 'em, drool on 'em some more and then send them back to you for cleaning before y'all sent them to their new owners. Now, that would be an improvement!!!!! :D :D :D

Deal?

Chip

P.S. - We'll take care of the ammo bill.

I have been using a set of Y-B sights for a few months now, and I think they are the best hard use sight on the market!!!! :D Very durable and they still offer a great sight picture. This has to be one of the best all around packages going, and I hope to get one in the works this year, if I can get a few other projects cleaned up. Great work guys.

Mark

Give me a call at the shop and we can discuss lead time and options. :)

Not that my opinion carries any weight, but I like the changes. The 1* was pretty much all one needs and no more, but you found a way to add more without adding fat.
Well done.

How'd you get me mixed up in this Chip? I'm just happy looking at the pics and there you go volunteering me. What, you want me to wash your car again too?

Okay I think I'm about to jump on the band wagon and send a Commander in for the 1* package. I called Lew earlier today and asked a couple of questions concerning the thumb safety and a few other things. First is the thumb safety replaced and if so with what? Second if I have a mainspring housing that is engraved can I send it along and substitute it for the one included in the package? Can anyone tell me the winning numbers for the Texas lottery, it'll make it easier to break the news to the wife.
