A few years back I bought a colt with a 22 cal conversion unit on it. the frame is us property mark'd m1911a1, last month I was given a box of parts by the same person I purchased the 22 from. In the box was a slide, barrel and assorted other parts including several 2 tone mags and 1 with a lanyard loop. The slide is marked model of 1911 us army. I would like to restore this to some of its original glory. I know its mixed parts but Iam sure theres some history in it. Any ideas as to who would take on this project? By the way the 22 unit works Great! Thanks

I would just put it back together and not worry about a restoration. But these guys do it.

Turnbull Restoration would do it buy they would charge you over $3000. I have a 1919 "Black Army" 1911 I'm gonna send to Bill Adair when I have some extra cash. His quote was in the $500-700 range. Here's mine now with its cheezy 1960's reblue, overbuff and crappy grips:
