...also, what's your opinion of the FN Hi Powers with the SFS? Are these things any good for a custom project?

I'll be very polite - I've never heard any owner of a Browning say "Gee - I wish I'd bought a Charles Daly".

Kev, Pay a bit more and get the real deal. The ones I've seen, from my perspective, left a whole lot to be desired. The SFS guns, if desired, can be easily converted to the standard fire control system. If you like the idea of the SFS, it can be dealt with and I personally haven't heard about any problems with it.
