Seems I've seen a post or two from Steve Morrison. Here is a Kimber Compact he did for me a few years back. Sorry the photo quality is not very good.

I've had several great phone conversations with Steve and finally got to meet him at SHOT this year. He's extrememly sharp and I like the way he conducts himself. That's me trying to find a less common way of saying "true gentleman", which he really is.

Pretty nice.
Excuse my ignorance, but I've heard his name here I think, and that's all I know. What's the name of his shop? where is it? etc.

He moved after performing the work on my Kimber. The picture quality does not the pistol and real justice.

Steve's work is very impressive! That link is not working though. You can view his work at: http://www.marsguns.com/Home.htm

I've been corresponding with Steve about building a gun for me for my "end of mission" present to myself when I depart the glorious environs of Baghdad! I've got the base gun and the specs worked out and can't wait to ship it off to Steve this July. Some very low profile, yet very heavy hitters of the 1911 world gave Steve very high marks...

Best to you guys!

Wayne Dobbs

Thank you all for the kind words. :)
It was a privilege and a pleasure to build that pistol. I was very satisfied with the work at the time of completion, and feel the choice of modifications, components and styling have held up well over time. That Kimber is one of my favorite examples of my work, thanks for the trip down memory lane, Tim. 8)

Umm the thread is over a year old so I imagine they are no longer hosted on the server. Check out the website

http://marsguns.com/Home.htm

I have heard great things about their work!
I hope to get a build by them sometime in the future but I have a few too many projects going right this second.

Things are a little hectic here preparing for the SHOT show, but I'll see if I can scare up some photos of Tim's pistol and host them on my server.

I'm ashamed to admit that Steve built me a wonderful HiPower that I've been meaning to photograph for some time now.
I'm presently working several hundred miles from my safe but I promise I'll post pics ASAP. ( ya listening Steve? :D )
