A used/new Novak P-210 I acquired last week. Note the beaver tail neatly added, along with a set of Novak sights (what else!.) Mag well, American style mag release and reworked mags as well. I understand from Wayne the hard chrome finish was applied later. Wayne has only done a handful of these guns, which are not too shabby to start with and are now sadly out of production. :( Dave

Dave,
That is definitely a base gun that you rarely see customized. Very nice indeed!

But just on this side of "the Pond." Here is a couple of photos of a P210 done by one of the top of the line German gunsmiths, showing a very high end custom job, including a variation on a 1911 style thumb safety:

See also http://www.waffen-oschatz.de for some other photos of a Euro-customized P210. (Click on the "Waffen Tuning" button on go to the Sig 210 section. The other sections are interesting as well, including one on the German 'spin' on how to do a 1911.) Dave

I had the chance to play around a bit with a 210 last year. Great pistol, but I still prefer a Hi-Power. It's tough to get used to the safety lever on the 210 after a lifetime of Browning designed models. I can say the 210 has superb accuracy, and a sweet trigger. On second thought, I guess I could live with one

Yeah, the safety is pure s**t, I agree. The problem is the rest of the gun is soooo sweet. The solution our German friend came up with is along the line you said, work with the good old Browning style safety. I read enough German to get by and the price for the work on these guns in Europe is staggering. Of course, now that they are out of production entirely, I must assume the cost for the base guns will go up too. Oh well, I guess I can live with a lousy safety since the rest of the gun is a blast. A couple of years ago, Larry Vickers customized a 210 for Ken Hackathorn. I think the article appeared in Handgunner Annual, with several pictures.
