I have a Commander that I'm thinking about having done "retro". I used to hate the retro look but it has really grown on me.

I've seen some great examples here on the site, but I was just wondering what is it that makes a gun be considered retro? I already know I want to use the Yost sights. I'm assuming no beavertail? I find more and more I really appreciate the simple look.
