Just bought a Bob Chow pistol. The gun was build by Chow in 1971. FA-fully accurized. The gun has : National match barrel , Colt AMB. Safety, Stipling in the front with borders, Old style low profile Bo Mar with ramp in the front, Mag. well openned , Mamooth ivory grips,Few other minor touches. Gun looks like it left the shop yesterday. The gun really shoots! 50 185SWC's removed the 10 ring off the target at 25 yards, only 4 shots were in the 9 ring! That's off hand, after working a midnight watch! Inside the gun EVERYTHING is polished first class! I shot it againg today with FED 230GR HP's. The same result! O mulfunctions! Brass falls between 4 feet (with match SWC's) to about 6 feet with JHP's. On a good day my early production S&W 945 will shoot like that.

I find them on the web and by chance. I shoot and collect fine 1911's. My agency won't let me carry one, so I just enjoy them on the range. This Bob Chow Colt cam ewith two slides. The previos owner parted the set. He said he sold the slide to someone in Indiana or Ohio. I would love to get it back.

Well, I'll keep my eyes open in Indiana for you then.
Any distinguishing features? Scars or marks?

The slide is a Series 70. Inside it could be marked "CHOW" ,FA, 81. Somewhere (maybe slide rails it could be marked 721). Bo Mar sights.

What BT said....if a former grunt like me can learn to use a digital camera (and they're not expensive), anyone can! :D

Congratulations on your new acquisition, but please share in a more meaningful way. Many of us would LOVE to see your new pride & joy!

If you don't want to take pics let me know and I will send you a FFL copy so you can ship the gun and I will take some nice photos, put them on a CD, post a few here and ship the gun back to you. Many here would say the process would take a few years but I have a guaranteed three month turnaroud

I used to own that gun... :D

The original owner was quite a fan of California based pistolsmiths and also had a Chow tuned S&W 19 and a brace of Swenson Colts among others.

I am still tyring to find the other slide. I DID manage to find a MICRO made boshing wrench with F.Bob Chow San Francisco Cal. staped on it. Goes well with the gun. The instruction manual that came with the gun has a stamp "recieved by Higgins" an address in San Jose Ca. and a serial number of the gun. I believe that Higgins bought the gun new in 1970 (gun was made by Colt in 1969) . I also thing think that Higgins was the one to give the gun to Chow since the gun is stamped by CHow 1-71. The work is VERY well done and accuracy is oustanding.
