Well here are a couple of my 1911's, at least the three that I own that aren't the way they left the factory. The stainless SA 1911 was worked over by Don Williams as my primary duty weapon, I think the only SA stuff left on it is the frame, slide and barrel. Been a great pistol with no failures in 3500+ rounds.
The second is a Colt Officers model that was worked over by Ray Harms, I won the pistol on a $100.00 raffle, best benjamin I ever spent. A list of the work is below.
Frame to slide fit, High cut front strap,Serrated front strap,Trigger guard lines all recut and straightened,Hand bevel magwell,Serrated MSH fitted,Ed Brown thumb safety - narrowed,Wilson beavertail,Med. Yo-Bo Trigger,Yo-Bo Action components and 4lb. trigger,Wilson Match barrel and bushing,Flutes on Barrel
Barstock plunger tube,Wilson FP & FP stop,Ed Brown pin set,Wolf spring set
Ed Brown recoil system,Wilson extended ejector,Wilson BP extractor,Blend rear of slide/frame,Complete reliability tune,Flare ejection port,Flat top and serrate,French Borders,Heinie rear sight (wrapped and notch opened)
Gold line front sight,Ed Brown slide stop - with added serrations
Dehorn,All lines trued and all tool marks removed,Slide flats polished to 320
Shortened grip bushings & screws (registered). Since winning the pistol I sent it back to Ray to have the rear of the slide serrated and reblued. Great pistol. The third is a Colt NRM Commander that I sent to Colt for warranty work and had them do their "O" package and Gold Cup serrations on it while it was there. Great work at a great price, not a custom but the work did help the shootability of the pistol.
