Picked up a very nice Yanek-built Colt 1991 Commander. The gun came, little fired, with the original work order, rug, and is very nice. I thought I'd share it with you, a little seen gunsmith who was quite active some years ago and, I understand, still building these guns. Dave

Nice 1911! I remember seeing some of Mr. Yanek's work in AH in the early/mid 90s and was very impressed. Thanks for sharing. Does anyone know whether Mr. Yanek is still building custom 1911s?

Apparently he was in 2001 still he was APG pistolsmith of the year then...I googled him and here is the address and phone number listed for him at that time. Give him a call and see (and let the rest of us know!)
