Question. I was working the Wannemacher Gun Show in Tulsa and one gentleman was looking at some of the take off parts I have. He was specific in looking for a 9mm slide stop for a 1911. He mentioned the part had a 3 on the inside where the 45 had a one.

He was putting a 9mm full size 1911 together. He was brand specific in Colt.

Just curious, anyone else heard of this.

Thanks.

Terry, Yep, Colt has always numbered their slide stops to identify their caliber application. I believe that there were a total of 4; the two you mentioned (the 9MM and Super used the same part), a different one for the 10MM, and one for the 22 conversions such as the Ace, and I believe that that one also fit the 38 AMU guns. I don't have the breakdown in front of me tho. Best,
