GREAT looking Bo-Mar installation since on a Gold Cup it must be welded up!

One of my first childhood gun rags was a well worn Behlert Custom catalog and pricelist. A real pioneer.

Nice looking gun. Austin had some pretty good talent come through his shop. Art Leckie, George Smith and John DeAngelo all worked for Austin. Sadly Art and John are no longer with us but George is still doing great work.

Dont forget Pete Carber, Bruce Gray, Matt McLearn and Carl Mustra!

Bruce and Matt are still building top-flight guns.

George, you left out a biggie, dintcha? Your own self? I remember Austin mentioning Gary Smith, and I'm thinking it was in the context of, he worked at Behlert's at one time, or am I remembering that wrong?

Spoke to Bruce briefly at SHOT and he had some fond memories of working there.

Yea,
I started there in 1986 and worked there till 1991 but I figured you guys knew what happened to me :D

Gary never worked there but is one of my favorite people in the world. I call him Bro. He has the best pulse on the industry bar none.

Bruce is much fun. We use to burn the midnight oil at Perkins and exchange ideas. Very bright guy.

Is Carl still building guns? He built my first custom 1911 in the 80's while working at joe K's in NJ. Still have the pistol.

Mike
