This customer sent me a brand new SFS 9MM FN in polished blue for some work. I stippled the front and back straps, pulled the diconnect and then did some trigger and reliability work. The finished product is shown below. I matted the lower frame and then blued only the lower frame. The combination of the deep blue/black polished slide and the deep blue/black matte frame is striking.

The lighting in the last two pics really show off the gun and finish!

While not a big HP fan I can still appreciate a fine weapon when I see one!

Congrats sir! She looks like a winner.

I need to lighten the pictures. It is really amazing how much lighter or darker they are when they are posted on a website. I have more pics that I did with a flash and aux lighting that I need to post. They are not the sexiest pics but they do show the finish work a lot more clearly. I am still trying to get this pic thing down. I know that a good pic can make a bad gun look good and a good gun look bad. The trick is making a great gun look great.

Jess - That is excellent. Nice work.

As for the pics, digital photos will look different on just about every computer because each computer's monitor is set to different brightness, contrast and gamma (color contrast balance) levels. So I wouldn't kill myself messing with the photos. These look quite good.

You might want to use a lighter background next time you photograph a blued pistol. That would help the contrast.

Ok, here are some more pics with a lighter background and some more light. I think that it shows the color of the pistol better. I just have to keep working on it until I know what shutter speed, light and flash combo works best. I have even thought about building a light box to take the pics with. This will have to do for now

Nice work Jess,

Until you get a light box made, the best one available is a semi cloudy day (or in a shady area on a sunny one) outside WITHOUT flash. Flash only works if it is bounced of a reflector.

Daylight is a good thing to try. I may have a chance to shoot some more pics of the gun outside before it ships back to the owner. I will try it, thanks for the nice words and the tips.

I just finished range testing this Hi Power. I have attached the photos from a 5 shot and 14 shot group at 15 yards. The lower left is a called flyer. I always seem to do that with guns that I am not familiar with. I am very happy with the groups and feel that the customer will be to. This thing shoots!
