I am experiencing a wonderful, warm and blue skies kind of a day.
Steve Bailey will know why, when he hears that I was released from the constraints of a bet that was rigged by an OLD pal, who knew the results before the bet was made. (Dirty tricks from OLD friends are allowed. Once)

So being released from that bet and warmed by a lovely noggin of St.Magdalenes 1979 Rare malt, I allow my thoughts to condense and ask who is the "go to" guy to have my Stainless Walther PPK worked over by.

I want the trigger smoothed, the entire thing "dehorned and made silky to the touch", and have a set of sights afixed for quick pick up, and zeroed in for 10 yards.

Possibly a set of Novaks Lo-Mount Ghosts Tritium dot rear, and a gold bead or XS tritium Dot for the front.

Suggestions?
I do not know of any high quality low profile wrap-a-round grips for the piece, but I would love Craig Spegel or other woodsmith to do some in an elegant bit of tree.

Again, suggestions?

Now back to the rest of afternoon. May all of you enjoy it as much as I am.

Neil Kellar (Kustom Ballistics, Decatur, IN) used to work on them. I don't have contact info, but the American Pistolsmith's Guild might.

I had my Stainless PPK done over by Bill Laughridge at Cylinder & Slide.

It turned out GREAT. I had them do the following:

-- Trigger Job (including removing the serrations from the trigger and installing an overtravel stop)
-- Throat & Polish the feed ramp (feeds Winchester Silvertips 100%)
-- Re-crown the barrel
-- Tuned Extractor
-- Complete De-Horn
-- Novak Rear Sight with Tritium and a Dovetail Front Sight.
-- Stippled Frontstrap
-- Bevel Mag Well

After the work was done I had Robar finish it in NP3 (internals too).

It still has the factory grips on it but I am looking for some good replacements as well. May go with Hogue Checkered Rosewood models.

Now we're talking. I like my Walther but it could use some refining. I like the one shown.

Jim Stroh of Aplha Precision used to do some fine PPK work.

If you can talk Dave Berryhill into it, he does great PPK work.
