Here are some snaps of a Colt NRM Government Model that I recently finished in my Custom Carry Package. The package's mission is to give the owner a no frills, but fully equipped pistol ready for duty as a concealed carry or home defense pistol. It has all the good stuff like:
Novak Lo-Mount sights
EGW barrel bushing & slide stop
Lowered and fluted ejection port
EGW firing pin stop & Wilson Bulletproof extractor
Slotted Commander hammer, hard sear & disconnector in tool steel
Wolff springs throughout
Greider solid aluminum trigger
Serrated front strap
G-10 smooth grips -w- allen grip screws
Machine beveled, hand finished mag well
Fitted Baer serrated flat MSH
Full Carry Bevel Package
Fitted beavertail grip safety
Ed Brown extended thumb safety
3 tuned Metalform mags, numbered and fitted with bumper pads

Excuse the commercial :D Now here's the pics!

John,

Beautiful 1991 that really appeals to me. This package seems like a good springboard for a custom defensive/carry gun. I sure would have no qualms about holstering it.

Someone sure is getting a winner. I hope to see (read: fondle) this one before it goes to its new home.

Looks like a Chip McCormick beavertail to me. I could be wrong.

I wonder if the beavertail is an S&A that John reshaped.

The beavertail on the pistol pictured is a CMC. Right now, the CMC's seem to be one of the most consistently dimensioned high grip beavertails made.
They are wide enough for a good fit and don't seem to have the rounded over corners and edges often found on some other brands.

Thanks for your kind comments! :D

That pistol looks familiar. If it's the one I traded to you....I want it back! I'd be more than happy to come up with the cash the trade was worth  .

That's a great looking pistol John. Everything you need and nothing you don't.

VZ Grips supplies them. You can buy them from either myself or VZ.

John’s work is top notch. I would not hesitate to stick one of his 1911 in my holster and go to work. Looks very good John.

I was lucky enough to get to get to handle this pistol. These are great pictures but don't do justice for the gun. I've heard many times that it's hard to get a good, smooth or light trigger pull on series 80 pistols. WRONG. John can do triggers, and this is probably the best trigger I've ever felt for a 1911.

I know I already commented on this fine lookig work of art on another forum. I do have to say this, seeing work like this come out of your shop I can understand why the wait time is now up to 24 months on work like this when in March it was only at 12 months. I just pray that I made it on to the waiting list while it was only at 12 months. Seeing this only makes the anticipation that much more of finally hearing from you to send in my Colt for some of that loving like you did on this pistol. Keep up the awesome work!
