Here is my SA GI back from John Harrison. Since I'm not handy with my wifes camera I'm going to go ahead and use the pictures John sent before shipping the gun to me. Only things that have changed to it are the grips, went with a set of vz grips.
Gun shoots great! A little tight right now but a few rounds should take care of it. I was totally impressed with Johns work (as usual) and can't wait for the next project to arrive.
Top view - Ejection port lowered and flared, Heine sights with tritium inserts, Slide top flattened and serrated with border
Serrated front strap, Beveled magwell
Rear of slide, serrated to match the heine sight
Finally a good overall view of the gun. John installed a dawson precision light rail for me. Now I'm waiting for the adaptor for my X200 light. Go figure they would run out.
Other items John took care of were re-fitting the beavertail which was a mess when I bought the gun. A coworker had attempted to install it and it didnt turn out very pretty at all. The slide to frame fit was tightened. Oversize firing pin stop, tool steel extractor, and extended ejector were also installed. Finally it made a trip out to Walter Birdsong for a Black T finish. I'm also waiting on John to finish up my new MSH, flat serrated to match the front....I decided on that at the last minute otherwise I'd have that too.
Other items in the gun before John got to them: Nowlin disconnector, EGW sear, titanium hammer strut, oversized hammer + sear pins, C&S hammer, and the safety I think was from Ed Brown. EGW bushing up front.
John also cut back and recrown the barrel, which was a SA barrel from a loaded gun I own - John also worked on that gun too but my dad ended up with it.
There, got one good picture out of her camera. Haha!
