Why don't I see more custom carry guns built from the Caspian Titanium frames?

I have heard it is harder to work on?
I am sure the LTW crew is up to that challenge, there has to be more to it than that.

I am really thinking of having someone here do a project for me. Id like it to be a Caspian TI Commander W/Rail.... I want to OWB carry it with the light attached when outside at night walking in the woods or things like that. Something I can just slip on when going out. A full size will be harder to cover with a simple jacket when carried in a OWB paddle (easy on and off). Kinda my dog walking gun.

G-d Im pathetic, I am having a custom made simply for walking in the woods at night and walking the dog......

I dont know what to say...
Im not content carrying a Glock and after using a Glock with a light attached, I cant see not having a light on the gun since the dogs leash will be in one hand its not practical to have a handheld light.... Hmmm I may have to even go with the Crimson Trace Laser grips! Too many people poo poo on the Insight M6X. Too bad, it would be ideal!

LTW you have made a junkie out of me!

Hey Hey, there's nothing pathetic about getting a custom toy for no good reason. ANY reason is good enough, so long as it's not solely b/c you simply wanted it. Anyhow, you may wanna contact Jess Gypin, he may be able to help you out. He just posted his latest crazily stippled work a moment ago. If you can't get a Ti Caspian frame, which are out of production, your next best bet is a S&W 1911PD - an aluminum frame w/ tac rail. Yea, i know it's tough finding a lightweight 1911 w/ a tac rail.

There are a few left at Caspian. I just recieved my Government size frame for my own collection. The customer I just finished a Ti bobtail build will be recieving his second frame inwhich he will be sending me shortly to do another full build. Caspian still has a few, but they are running out fast.

Ti is hard to work with. It chews up files and cutters fast, but I didn't have any problems working the frame - well, none to cus and rant about.

Here is another quick pic of it.

Pine Tree Castings, which does the raw frames for Caspian, is getting out of the Ti casting business. Gary Smith of Caspian reported this some time ago on another forum. He recently mentioned that Caspian did receive a small order (50 pieces or so) from Pine Tree and there were a few unclaimed frames.

It is my understanding that Caspian is working with other companies to supply raw Ti frames.

Not sure why folks poo poo on the M6X...Ive been carrying it on my M4 for the last 8months in some pretty ratty conditions and a lot of CQB and I swear by it. For what thats worth.

This is a little Ti frame gun one of my students whipped up. Officers top end, commander size lower end, my slide treatment design.

Very very nice!

I hope there is still a TI Commander Recon frame on Caspians shelves as I am talking with one of the LTW guys about a project which would be ideal for that frame (I want a custom serial # as well haha)

From now on any Frame up customs where I pick out all the goodies are going to have my custom serial #'s

When buying limited run custom projects like the Yost Signature Grade LW series he has coming I know I cant get my custom serial # (nor would I want it as thats what shows its part of those limited runs) but everything else will have my initials and the # will correspond to which # total custom it was of mine.

I got that from the Bilby PR I aquired. The friend who had Brian build it had his initials and 001 as it was his first total custom. I like that!
