Can anyone tell me if 9mm largo ammunition can be used in a gun chambered for 9x23? Thanks.

The surplus and Blazer ammo as loaded is slightly too long to get more than 3-4 mags in your magazines. Otherwise the case is identical in most respects to 9x23.

I guess you could run them through a seating die if you have a bunch laying around..

This is always a confusing question. Reed's offers several 9mm Largo loads and their response was that Largo was OK to use in 9x23 Win. pistols but not the other way around. I've heard the same thing that Mr. Lombardo has as well. I shoot 9x23 Win. and would consider using Largo as it is relatively inexpensive and more readily available, provided it was deemed safe.

I didn't hear this info...I learned it! :)

9x23 should never be fired in a gun chambered for Largo because of the huge differences in pressure. The cases are externally, mirror images, but internally the 9x23 is much stronger as necessary to contain the pressure when fired in a 1911 with a non-ramped barrel.

Most Largo rounds are loaded too long for a 1911's magazine. A few rounds will fit, but as the rounds start arcing in the mag they stick.
