Does anyone have closeups of a bead blast finish on a alloy frame? I have a Colt Defender and I am preparing to have some work done, just hoping that I can have the texture smoothed a bit. Also are there any issues with the "series 90" to fitting "series 80" beavertails or thumb safeties? Anyone with the history on the difference between the 80 and 90? Thanks.

I think the only thing that "series 90" means is that the gun has some features formerly billed as "enhanced". But I'm no expert on Colt terminology.

You can get that frame refinished in matte or matted rounds/shiny flats-- just depends on how the metal is polished and/or blasted prior to the anodizing process.

The several Defenders I've seen have been great guns-- accurate and reliable. Good mags are more critical on the small guns..... get rid of the split-top mag followers as they may dent your feedramp when they come up after the last shot. I favor putting Tripp kits in those mags.
