I have several 10mm Delta elites and all of them seem to have different weight recoil and mainspring housing springs. I would like to set all 3 guns up identically and was wondering what the best weight recoil and mainspring housing springs would be to shoot standard factory ammo (PMC/Remington). If it makes any difference all 3 pistols have EGW's flat firing pin stop.

Thanks,

William Smith

Mr. Smith, I would definitely not go with a lighter than 23 lb. (stock)hammer spring. Given that weight hammer spring, and the EGW firing pin stops, I think you'll probably be fine with a 20 lb recoil spring. If you end up shooting some of the really hot 10MM fodder, you can change out to a stiffer recoil spring (factory is 23lb equivalent). One of the ways to judge if your recoil spring is too light or heavy is ejection distance. I've found that 6-8 foot ejection distance is about right. If the cases drop at your feet, spring is a mite too stiff, and if you have to walk to the next county to pick them up, well........

Mr. Williams,

Thanks for the quick reply. I assume that Wolf Springs would be my best choice for replacement.

Thanks,

William Smith

Wolff seems to have the widest selection. I do prefer the conventional springs as opposed to the variable style, though either should work.
