Ted just finished this Commander for me. Enjoy.

The "light" parts are bead blasted stainless and are a close match to the Ti frame in natural light.

I remember this one going out. Ti is very cool. Ray has done a few in the last couple of weeks and mentioned that the files are not exactly willing to cooperate. Great set up Zak, hope you enjoy it.

I managed to get a couple hundred rounds in before dark today. Gun ran 100%. One mag failed to lock back, but I've noticed the same in my other 1911 with the Wilson 8's. The CMC 8's worked fine.

Nice looking (I have a set of Commanders for carry in line as we speak), what mods did you have done?

That is a great looking Commander. I love the classic look and the attention to detail. I am in the "wait and see" mode about titanium frames, but I like what I have seen and heard to date.

Is the front sight a plain serrated surface or does it have the gold inlay?

What is the finish on the slide? From the pictures, it appears to be a polymer coating but pictures can lie.

JeffVN,

It's pretty much as you see it. The tang was trimmed down a bit, and the rear sight was reshaped, I think.

farscott,

The front sight is just plain black serrated. A big black sight in a bigger rear notch is simple and real easy to pick up. I find that sight picture simple from my IPSC experience using Bomars. Plus, one ought to be able to "point" or "index" shoot if something is within 7 yards. If something is a threat in the dark, it will be close.

Slide is just blued. Ted's blueing comes out real dark and durable.

Zak,

That is some amazing looking bluing. Very nice pistol and I like the sight choices. John Harrison has put the same sight package (Heinie rear and serrated post) on two of my pistols, and the sight picture is fast and clear.

That is one beautiful Commander, congrats! Love the subtle color of the Ti frame. Classy, very classy.
