I just wanted to take an opportunity to thank this fine forum of people and share my first custom pistol experience. I have loitered here for quite a while, and after looking at many pictures and reading the information you all provide, I finally sent my Colt out to Mr. John Harrison. I must say, Dhart's pic of his enhanced government Colt is what tipped me over in moving forward with the project and choosing John.

Anyway, John provided great customer service and follow-up that is unfortunately, rarely seen in any business anymore. John's e-mails really helped the wait and his advice always made sense and was welcomed. I knew I had to have alot of patience as you all have a back-log of client's waiting in-line for a reason, the follow-up e-mail with progress really helped the time go by. John actually recommended a few upgrades I did not think of, and even ended up saving me money by selecting the options differently than I had. I will be sending a Delta to him one day for sure.

I am very proud of my Colt, I can't be a more satisfied customer. I am taking the pistol to the range today, and I am sure it will shoot just as well as it looks. I am sorry for the poor pics, but I snapped them off rather quickly and my skills are horrible (I shoot a pistol much better, I promise).

Thank you John Harrison, and thank you LTW forum and it's members for providing a great environment and information.

That is a very nice looking pistol!! Can you give us some specs on the gun? Is it stainless or hard chromed?

Must not buy another Colt for John to work on. Awesome looking pistol. DHart's stainless pistol by John was the same reason that I decided to have him do the work on my Colt. I just have to remember to not pick up another 1911 at the next opportunity.

Looks like Mr. Harrison's usual attention to detail. You're a lucky fellow.

The pistol is stainless, I requested everything bead blasted with the slide flat polished a bit.

The pistol started as a stock enhanced Colt commander. John fitted a Kart barrel, Heinie sights (front gold bead), serrated the front strap, mainspring housing, and top of the slide. He performed his duty carry trigger job that is really, really well done. The slide has also been bevelled on the bottom with a border on th top. Other things have been done as well, but these ae the main items.

I did take it out to the range today, it is perfect. I now know what everyone means when they say it is an addiction...I am allready thinking about a blued version.

Thank you everyone for the kind words.

Very nice and clean looking. Wish SA and Colt would always do the ball cuts.
