Has anyone used these for their CCW pistols? I have a BUNCH of Wilson 47D magazines w/the standard base pad and those work great for my 1911s w/a magazine well... but a couple Commander pistols I have don't have that and I thought it'd be a nice feature for the LowProfile mag to aid in concealment.

Any yeahs/neahs would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Eric,

I use them on both my Baer TRC and my Talon III (both are used as my "carry" guns).

They work great. There's enough of a pad for solid seating but not enough for concealment issues.

Highly recommended ....

Eric, I, too, use them in my carry weapon (no magwell). Gary--how do you like that Nighthawk custom?

hogplt,

I have two - the Talon III with 4.25" barrel and officer size frame and a 5" Talon that has a black PremaKote slide over a hard chrome frame. (I took off the magwell - it's an easy on/off fit)

Both have been 100% reliable with any magazine and any ammo that I've used. My "range" ammo is WWB and my "serious" stuff is Federal HST, Winchester Ranger T and Federal HydraShok - all 230 gr.

The craftsmanship on these pistols is outstanding! Accurate, reliable and good looking - hard to beat combination. Most definately recommended.

And, the low profile Wilson base pad works great with either gun.

I have four of them on wilson mags. I M H O less dig into ribs on carry side and mag pouch side. more comfort then when carrying commander of full size gun.

Thanks for the info guys...

Did you all order those f/Wilson or get them elsewhere? Any tips for saving $$ is always good.

I would also back up w/ Gary said about the Nighthawks. I have a Talon 5" and it has been flawless. I had a Talon II but was forced to sell her to bring in some quick cash at the time...

Here's my Talon.

I always buy mine from Brownells... cheaper than direct from Wilson or any other supplier I've found.
