 Post subject: Action Works Hi-Power
PostPosted: Sun Apr 08, 2007 6:21 pm
Some time back, I asked my good friend Don Williams to build me a nice Hi-Power. The craftsmanship pictured below is the result.

The work includes the following:

A complete reliability work over
Heinie plain black sights (I've never been fond of tritium)
Cylinder & Slide Hammer and Sear
A trigger job with his trigger pull reduction modification
Stipple front and rear grip straps
Beveled mag well
Flat top and serrate slide
Recrown barrel
Refinish in black parkerizing
Spegel Presentation Grade Kingwood grips

The trigger modification has to be felt to be appreciated. Just guessing, I'd say the trigger doesn't move more than 0.15" front to back and breaks as crisp and clean as one could ever hope for.

I wanted a fairly "simple" pistol, but with no compromises. I got exactly what I had ordered.

Hope you enjoy the pics I snapped this afternoon. Our friends across the pond have a long and successful history with the P-35. Therefore, I picked the most "British" props I own... my trusty Barbour Beaufort jacket and my RAF coffee cup.

I really need to stop clicking these threads. They are going to make me do things I really can't afford to do

That finish looks very nice! Great photos too! I'll be sending my FN Hi-Power to Don soon for some simple upgrades.

Ya gotta love a simply elegant and primary protection "tool". Great work Don. All of right stuff and no un-needed fluff. My kind of pistol!

It looks like my Action Works Hi-Power has a fraternal twin. Nice heater.

Again, another fine piece of craftsmanship.
