Below are some pictures of a Kimber Warrior that I bought that had already been sent to Evolution Gun Works (EGW) for modifications. Recently I have added a new set of grips and had the mag well edges beveled and a lanyard installed by Mars Armament. I will also list the modifications done by EGW. Sorry for the poor pictures, one of these days I will either figure out how to work my digital or get a better one.

This pistol started off as a stock Kimber Warrior and has been sent to EGW for the following modifications.
Ed Brown single tactical safety,
EGW slide stop, firing pin, bushing, mag catch, hammer, sear, disconnector, trigger, plunger tube, extractor, pin set, ejector, guide plug
ISMI spring set,
S&A Magwell blended to the frame,
YoBo Pro sight,
Checker front strap @ 25lpi checker S&A magwell @ 25lpi
Reliability package
Trigger job @ 4lbs with the entire gun tuned and blended
Melt package
Matte blueing of the entire gun

Nice, especially the way you made the idiot scratch disappear.

At least pictures 1, 2, 4, the last picture and the first on more pictures; where there is the slight mark/scratch under the slide stop. Wasn't trying to insult anyone, just a little curious if you had the entire frame redone or managed somehow to spot fix it.

Yeah, I know that you weren't making an insult, the marks are faint wear, but in the photos, they shine for some reason, worse than they look.

Thanks for the compliments Chris. It is a good shooter, no doubt about it. I had to swap the Gunners out for the ones I have on it since they are less aggressive. The Gunners are definitely good grips and I would be using them if this was being carried in a uniform holster all of the time, but this gun will be more of a concealed carry piece. All in all, I really like it.

I bought two of them when they first came out just to try them. So far, they have run 100% and when they are in stock again, I am going to buy several more. They are going to replace my GI issue mags. They are stock, I didn't do the dremel modification that Magpul showed in their video to get rid of some feeding problems that some are experiencing.

I'm waiting for all the T&E to go underway and let Magpul get the kinks out before I make the switch, although they haven't let me down yet.

...Great products, incredible customer service.

I've been using the HK 416 high reliability mags, costly and weigh slightly more than USGI mags, but run flawlessly and can take some abuse.

good luck on that new 1911, keep us updated on performance.

I hate buying the first run of anything also, that's why I only bought two of them initially. The HK mags look really nice, but after the video that Magpul put out, with the truck testing, I was sold. Also, a buddy of mine and I were at the range running our AR's. He actually has an M4 because he is on our ERT team. I was showing him the new Magpul mags and telling him about them and while on the range, he dropped one of his GI mags (on gravel), loaded and the bottom blew out of it. I handed him one of the Magpul mags and he ran it semi and full auto through his M4 and he was sold on it also. It ran 100%:D

how bad did you cringe when you put the "idiot scratch" in your newly customized and refinished gun?? man that had to deflate you for a moment. Aside and in seriousness, that is one beautiful gun. the grips match it well. nice photography too.

Is there something wrong with the other side of the gun?

Left side looks nice.

I have been thinking about sending my colt to EGW. Just not sure what to have done. I was hoping to have a 4-1/4" hard chrome built.

I really like the 25 LPI checkering. I have handled guns with 30LPI and 20 LPI and I think that 25 LPI is a happy medium.

I really like the YoBo Pro Sight. I would say that my 1911's will have them on them from now on.

Looks like EGW did a great job. I have a Desert Warrior that needs a little help, thanks for sharing, Mike.

This question is for InTrooper4255
I have a Kimber Warrior I have had tons of slide lock open with 6rounds lefts. FTF nose dives I just sent is back to Kimber for repair on the nose dives. They sent it back and the same FTF nose dive with Kipro mags. I am beginning to wonder if it's Kimber or me! After emptying the first clip. I drop the empty one put in a full mag release the slide and Bam! The bullet gets pushed into the bullet casing and some time gets pushed so far it won't fit in chamber. Any help you can offer is appreciated thanks Dennis

When I got my Warrior, it wasn't stock at all, it had already had some reliability work done to it so it has been 100%. Since then, I have had a new barrel and a bunch of other work done by Drakes Gun Works, so the only things stock on my Warrior are the frame and slide! As far as your Warrior, I would maybe try it with some Wilson 47D, Chip McCormick or Tripp mags and see how it does. A lot of the 1911 problems are magazine issues. If that doesn't work, any one of the magnificent 1911 smiths on this board could help you out if they aren't back logged on work. Good luck!
