I posted this gun on pistolsmith with several responses. I acquired it from a customer who advised he bought it while living in Glendale Cal. The person he bought it from advised Kings did the work. Anybody have thoughts??? I traded for this and a 1960 NM that Austin Behlert built. I was able to confirm the Behlert gun but nothing on this one. Debating on having it redone.

Hi Gary, what parts are in the pistol, barrel/bushing, thumb safety etc. The grip safety looks like a modified Kings, or even a Hoag at quick glance. Obviosly hard to tell with no makers mark etc...

Parts are not marked except for:

Kings recoil spring plug
Barsto Barrel

If I can ever figure out pics I will post some more.

Living in So Cal, that definitely looks like an early King's gun. It looks like it has some Jim Hoag's handiwork in it (he used to work for King's), especially looking at the beavertail.

Hoags name has come up several times in discussing this one. Is he still around? If so does anyone know how to get ahold of him to see if he may be able to confirm this.
