I would love to see some "in progress pics" of these signature grade guns as they are being completed. The complete packages are certainly nice to look at as well, but sometimes its hard to appreciate how much work it took to get there. How cool would it be to have a photo album of your full house custom being made? (Hmm) 8)

I think this is a fantastic idea. Maybe get pics of the masters as well while they are working

Very nice photos Gary, as always! I like the ideas of this too...I would like to see some photos of our Smittys too. When the pics are posted after SHOT each year, usually they don't label who is who, and I think it is great to be able to put a name with the face.

Seriously tho, I'd like to see the Masters workshops

I know Chuck has posted in progress pictures on the 1911 forum. IN those cases more often than not it is to show how he does something in particular, like welding up the tangs to fit a new beavertail. It is really cool none the less. Not many of us get the chance to see the hard work that goes into these guns. I have been lucky enough to watch George Smith at EGW doing his thing on one of my guns. It is pretty cool.

A Discovery Channel series like American Chopper with one of the pistol smiths here would be cool. You up for it CT ?

Sounds fine to me, but I'm not sure what kind of chopper I'd build..... Image

Probably start with a 250 series back tire, S&S 124 engine, baker 6 speed.........

Gary, O Keeper of the History, nicely done.

CT, you get a Vespa to start with, we'll see how it goes, and THEN maybe a Vee-Twin :D

I've always liked the idea of such a show too but I'm afraid we don't have the TV audience draw. For one thing, far as I know, none of us are outlaws, ill-mannered, or short-tempered. Well, OK, maybe SOME of have one..... or two.... of these traits

Plus it is always cool to see how others have there machines and fixturing set-up

ltwtcmdr, glad you said "some". 'Cuz ya know what comes next if I show it all to ya, right  ?

I'm on a real treadmill these days... it's like I'm juggling a bowling ball, a box of broken glass, a flaming sword and a badger with a thorn in his paw...... but if I can do four things I can probably do five  , so I'll try to work a camera in there too, but gimme a little time.
