This one has most LWS available features. Seecamp sights, one piece backstrap (the answer before the answer), loaded chamber indicator, serrated front strap and slide top. LWS marked on the trigger guard and behind the rear sight. Pretty nice old pistol. Havent decided if I am going to keep it or put it up for sale. I cant really afford to keep them all but this one is pretty cool.

Gary,
that is a cool gun. I love the unusual stuff that you bring to the forum.
Thanks.

PS-did you see the Pachmayr with Seecamp conversion on auction? Wow!

I see some stuff that was very hard to-- especially in the '70's.

Nice work once again, Gary.

All you need now is some custom grips with window panels.

Thanks guys.

I see a lot of the TSW conversions listed but not so many true Seecamps. The sights were Louis Seecamps design. Look kind of like beefed up S&W. I have had several Seecamps but none with this amount of machinework and attention to detail.

Heres a scan of some old Seecamp paperwork detailing the chopped guns.

Gary,

Thanks again for sharing such interesting stuff. A real treat.

What year do you figure this pistol was built? Another one "ahead of its time" for sure.

That's a good score, Gary. Not many like that one floating around.

Stan, the Commander is from around 1972. My guess is mid to late 70s. I saw a date range on the LWS forum. Seems they did around 2000 of them from the mid 70's until early 80's. Then ODI and TSW started doing them. They dont have the reputaiton the LWS guns have.
