Below are some pics of a pair of CCOs that I recently completed. They feature aluminum frames, Caspian slides, Kart barrels & bushings and the following list 'o goodies -

Heinie Slant-Pro Straight-8 night sights -w- serrated slide heels
Flattened and serrated slide tops with ball cuts
Slide Flutes and French borders -w- heavy bottom bevels
Wilson beavertails & Ed Brown thumb safeties
Scalloped front straps and main spring housings
Beveled mag wells and round butts
Grips by Larry Davidson
Top ends finished in Melonite
Lowers finished in hard chrome

Enjoy the pics and thanks for looking! :D

I really like what you did with the slides. The ball cuts along the serrated flat top is eye catching. Very nice.

Damn fine pair. The new owner will be very proud to carry such works of art.

Very versatile - May be carried, or framed and admired as works-of-art. Exceptional work, sir.

Not being a fan of slide flutes, front cocking serrations or scallops, I ordinarily would've been a tough [silent] critic for this pair of pistols .. at least for the pre-build specifications. However, the above features flow together in such harmony with the French border, flat-top slide, round-butt frame and other refinements that the finale is holistically astounding. Another pleasant surprise for me is how beautifully the hard-chrome lower and melonite upper operate in sync.

Bravo, maestro ... great intuition, courageous approach and brilliant execution ... twice, no less.

Well seeing this makes me glad I am on Mr Harrisons wait list BUT at the same time it upsets me...
Those are soooo sexy I am going to have to get on his list again for something like that... First I have a old pre series 70 LW Commander with is name all over it!

Great looking carry-heaters. The frames appear to be SA manufacture. Are they available from the current catalog? What is a good source for aluminium Officers' frames?

Well done. :D

John,

As Napoleon Dynamite would say- "Sweet"

How did you get the frames grey? Did you coat them after they were anodized or did they actually anodize to that color?

I have a vested interest in the answer:wink:

They are hard chromed by Metalife. They were not anodized.

Beautiful guns, John. The slides appear to be true commander length. Did you weigh the guns after the cuts were made? I'd be interested in the finished weight for comparison sake. Thanks,
Jon

Hi John,

Not sure if you know but you just built my dream guns? So how bout you build one just like that for me and I will pay you $1.00 a week until I die, I will also mow your grass, cut your hair, wash your car, clean your mustach and do your window!!

Do we have a deal sir!!

Oh I forgot since I turned in the badge and went to law school I am a lawyer, so I guess I could also sue some one for you? Just let me know who.

Seriously - as usual nice work. And some day when I come to my senses and give up prosecuting and go into private practice defending drug dealers I will order a pair of CCO just like that. Of course I will need them due to the client factor!!!!!!!

They are Commander length, 4 1/4 inches. I'm sorry, I didn't think to weigh them. I have done some cut and weigh tests, as a gun was being built and have always been disappointed at how little the reduction in weight actually is, considering how much cutting was done.
