WOW...I guess you guys here ARE 1911 freaks...

Yes, it is one of Jim's children. All of my 1911's are from him, and they are all Series 70's.

I just finished a custom rifle and wanted to build a 1911 to go with it, so I called Jim. I was digging in the safe for a LNIB Series 70 that I have been saving and found this one...I think the new build will be a fixed sight version of this one

Hey Hoser, you must have at least one from Jim as well since you are in Cali also.

Yep, and seen many pass through my hands and/or friends. Jim's buried Bomars are cool. So is the Hoag beavertail.

Where in Cali are you?

Im in LA. I think this one only has 50 rounds through it with both barrels. I think I need to wear the bluing off of this thing.

OK a while back people couldnt stop laughing when I posted I found an old pre series 70 LW Commander in my safe....
That doesnt compare to this.....

WOW
Good find!
Its nice to find something like this you forgot all about.

I have found cash in the back of the safe and things but its funny I am happier when I find something like the LW Commander even though Ive found cash to buy two or 3 of the LW Commanders.

Well, I went through what I call the "Dark Times". This is the period I went through where I strayed from the path of 1911's and went crazy with double action 45's. I have been kicking myself for it because I would have more Colts if I was faithful. But im back!

I talked to Jim yesterday and am probably going to have him give birth to another work of art. I have one more virgin Series 70

I'm lucky to find a quarter in the bottom of the washing machine every now and then! Great find, and enjoy it!

But I THINK they're only for those who do a pistol with him. Maybe someone can confirm this.
