I was wondering if anyone had any experience with this pistol and whether or not it was worth the $1700 they are asking for it, considering the base gun used and upgrades?

Have never handled one but I know lots of guys who have had work
done by C&S and all have been very happy.
It looks like a pretty good deal, there are of course a few things I would change myself but thats just cause I am a picky snob haha. Id have to have the ejection port cleaned up a bit and a short trigger for sure.

The price looks fair considering it includes the base gun. I think youd be hard pressed to find package from the Semi Custom shops out there at that price but for about 25% more you open a few more options up.

Let us know what you do and I would love to hear a range report on it.

If it's made anything like the adventurer that I have, yes it sounds like a good deal. Pistol Dynamics has a similar offer.

I wrote up the first R&D that Bill built for Harris Publications. It is a very good and solid pistol that is on par with the Yo-Bo 1* as far as function. The R&D has no MIM parts if that is important to you and is a good value.

Hope this helps.

I also own one of their Hi-Power "Pathfinder" packages and can only say that it is an incredible little pistol, and if you are a fan of the P-35 like I am it is a must have!! Accuracy in mine is very good considering the short barrel, trigger, finish, and bevel packages are what you'd expect from Bill and the gang--EXCELLENT!! I have had to send her back to C&S for a little "tweaking" due to it being a new gun...the slide wouldn't lock back on any empty magazines (mags were supposed to have gotten a specific Wolff spring kit installed, mine didn't have them), and twice during a shooting string, the hammer followed the slide forward!!
The smith that had originally built this pistol has called me twice in the last 2 weeks to follow up with me and is researching every possible cause of the hammer issue...they are being incredible to deal with and at this point I wouldn't be hesitant to reccommend their work to anyone, based on their products and service!! Go ahead and get one and let us know how happy you are in the end!!--John

Having been inside Bill's shop and witnessed his fellas workin first hand I have to give him and his my vote. I went to his build class in 06 and the guy is an absolute stickler for details. I have handled many of his guns in the past few years and being experienced with the intricacies of building a custom gun and the cost therein 1700 is pretty inexpensive considering all of the labor involved. Plus Bill and his guy's are a pleasure to deal with.
