Getting a Colts Officers. Has anyone seen the officers model that Pistol Dynamics did. Saw one picture. Do the great smiths here think well of this model? Is it a good base for a build? Its all stainless.

Cajun...if you do a search on this site, you will find plenty of different Officer's ACPs to look at. I don't know if your question is specifically about the Pistol Dynamics model, or the Officer's Model in general, but I think that the Officer's Model in general is very well thought of here..I LOVE mine!!! :P Welcome aboard and if you stay in here much, be prepared to spend a little bit of money..these guys are addicting!!--John

Personally, I've never had a problem getting the Officers ACP to run. Anytime you start shortening the slide though on any 1911, you'll find that the recoil springs need to be changed a bit more often. Other than that, they're amenable to any of the other mods you can perform to the garden variety 1911's if you so desire. Best,

Thanks for the reply. Does anyone have pictures or information on the Pistol Dynamics Officer?

PD is nice and all but you cant compare it to what you would get from one of the crew here...

All comes down to what you are willing to spend, what you want etc etc...

Whatever you do you will be happy....

Pistol Dynamics will build just about whatever you want. I had them do a pistol for me and I am very happy not only with the gun but also the customer service. I have also had work done by Yost-Bonitz and Chuck Rodgers. Both of them were excellent with quality and customer service. Anyone on this forum would be an excellent choice for a custom project but I can assure you that Pistol Dynamics would be just as good for such a build. Each smith seems to have their own style and I would consider that also.
If you go forward with you build make sure you take before hand picutures.
Gary

Anyone who discounts the talents of Paul Liebenberg has never handled one of his guns. He was building "Best Grade" 1911's when Reagan was president.

The smiths on this board are top notch, thats for darn sure and I think their collaborative efforts and sharing of ideas and concepts have elevated the 1911 bar in a big way.

I belive that the Signature Grade and Combat Specials are 100% done by Paul only. The other PD models have the the final fitting done by Paul.

K, thanks for letting me know, Paul does great work!
For the money I would want it to be built 100% by him.
He is right there along with the LTW crew as some of the
best guys out there... But myself, Id stick to the LTW crew
haha sorry I am just partial and have had nothing but good
luck with the guys around here.
