Gents,

Recently, I had the SUPERB experience of dealing with a lesser known smith on the LTW board.

Dave Erickson of Condition One PIstolsmithing might not have one of the common names known on the LTW forum, but his work and customer service are second to none. Following the tradition of the true professionals here, he is not only a outstanding gunsmith, but a solid person. :D

A few months ago I was lucky enough to catch some of his posts and examples of his work. I looked up his site and gave him a call. After touching bases a few times, I packed up my toys and they were inbound.

The 1991A1 on the left had the following:

*Barrel crown (hubba-bubba! Outstanding!)
*Yost Bonitz ignition system
*Yost rear sight with a single tritium dot
*Shaping/ fitting of the bushing
*Cerakote black the stainless barrel
*Trigger job! (Man, he put a sweet trigger on that thing!)
*Medium Greider trigger

1991A1 on the right:

*Fit a new Kart barrel
*New bushing/ fitting/ shaping
*Barrel crown

Daves professionalism and constant contact was fantastic to not even mention the way he included test targets and great packaging...

Teaser pics!

I saw those two during my last visit to Dave's shop. His attention to detail is incredible. His work is first class.

That's why he is working on number 2 and 3 for me.

First of all, thanks for the kind words guys. It's always my pleasure to get any feedback. It really makes the Job Satisfaction Meter peg hard to the right.

This is the barrel that came out of the parkerized gun. Thankfully this is the extent of the carnage, aside from a slightly misshapen bushing.

Regrettably, I didn't have a bunch of time to take a family photo of the pair. Here's one that might just pass muster. The most difficult part of this project was ensuring that I didn't necessitate a refinishing by my carelessness. Knock on wood, they survived a few weeks in Omaha without getting scuffed or dinged. A large part of that might have been keeping the kids out of the shop!
