That is nice. I am pretty fond of retro. Best on your new possession.

That's just about the perfect "Retro" pistol. The owner is one lucky guy. John sure does stay busy, between building guns and getting his baby girl married off and all.

The border on the front strap checkering is a really nice feature, kinda like a frame for a beautiful art work. Black T is a great choice for a serious piece like that. From the color in the picture, I thought it was either Ion Bond or E-Treat. I love the YoBo rear sight and the wide spur hammer. Great pistol.

John Harrison's current website is:

http://www.harrisoncustom.com/Home.aspx

Precision Gunworks was his old site.

the more I am around the 1911, the more I appreciate the beautiful simplicity, and some might even say "old school tactical". Look at the values of model 58 S&W's, they do not have a rear sight on a gun that is know for having a flat shooting round. yet they are fetching higher prices than the model 57's. The older Colts by comparison also have rudimentary sights, but they are also low drag like the 58. Beavertails do increase comfort over long sessions and with hot loads, but I shoot my stock Delta elite just as accurately as my TRP.

That is wonderful.

I have a Harrison 1991A1 and it will never leave my possession.
