Picked this one up and think a retro conversion is in order. I think I will yank the rib, fill the holes and add YoBo retros. What do you think? BTW the box SN's to the gun.

Not a bad idea. I am just not into Bullseye guns. I have a plan in mind for it. I have a set of Nutmeg ivories with antique medallions looking for a platform.

Honestly, I'd sell that as a collectors item. Buy a Colt Retro, and then do a build.

...Or, I'd stick it in my safe and sit on it.

If I could document it was by a known smith I would. But with no provenance its just a bulleye gun of unknown origin. In my limited experience BE and comp guns from unknown smiths dont have alot of marketability and rarely bring what an unmolested gun will bring. In this case an unmolested 60's vintage commercial Gov model would bring $900-$1100. BE guns w/o provenance bring 25% to 50% less. Which puts me into a retro for less $$$. My only concern is how bad the screw holes will show on top after they are filled. May flat top and serrate it to help hide them.

let us know how it goes, my freind allan tillman, who by the way is a awesome gunsmith and bullseye gun maker, says it's a blast to shoot the pins, not only does it look like you have a great gun to start with but will have a ton of fun shooting it, good luck chad

Gary,

How do you like the Nutmeg Sports ivory stocks? Do they fit properly?

Regards,

Mark

I have only dealt with them one time and actually bought these from a listing Jim had on Ebay. They fit and look great. Nice documentation. I dont think I have heard any negatives about Nutmeg.

Gary,
If they are not shrunk too bad I would be interested in buying those brown horsey grips from you. If you don't have a use for them I have a '57 GM that is all correct except the grips. I could sure use them. Let me know if we can make a deal. randyappleman@hotmail.com
