Yeah, nothing to see.
Just a drop-dead gorgeous, finely fitted, and beautifully finished 1911.
Sure. Moving along now.
And slowly shaking my head and talking to myself as I go.

I'm moving.....

....to the end of the line. I'm 50 this year, so after I retire at 66 1/2, I should be next up! Excellent!

WOW! is right, a nod to the older style customs with the squared and checkered trigger guard, the beveled slide and borders that are currrently in favor, it all blends together very nicely. Even the detail in the slide stop is really cool, I like how you modified it. The lines and style of this one are very clean and look great with that beautiful blueing job. ALOT of details in this beauty!!! Nice work.

Mark

What's wrong with me? Why is it I still love the look of a squared TG? And that one is done so....perfectly!

Looks great Tim, brother, friend, mentor!

CT,

That flat out rocks!

You will always be my metal finishing hero...those flats look flatter than my Brown & Sharpe surface plate.

Never seen a nicer squared trigger guard.

I'm glad I'm drinking the same water as you on the Western Slope...maybe it'll rub off on me!

I keep thinking the LTW smiths have done all there is to do, and what can they possibly do next? Every week or some times it seems every day SURPRISE!,SURPRISE! This one gets book marked for future study.

Ditto! What everyone else said, and I have to agree with Ned; what is it about a well-executed square trigger guard that just SCREAMS cool?
I dont shoot finger forward anymore, yet Im still drawn to that feature.
I guess its like seeing a picture of an old flame... You dont want her back... but Damn she looked good!

You know, a pistol like that just raises the value of everything else in a gun safe, it makes all the other pistols try a little harder to look good :P

Excellent work Sir as usual.

Lots to see and ponder.

The base gun is one of the earliest Series '70 repros I have seen. I have never seen that Extreme Engineering hammer on a pistol setup like a carry gun; I usually see them on SV/2011 competition guns. The detail on the slide stop is amazing. The border treatment on the slide fits into the theme.

Someone is going to be very happy.

I have you beat sir! I'm 54  I can't stand these pics. I too have one in the pipeline. I even tried bribing Tim to move up on the list. Didn't work :(

I should have mine around 60th birthday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Gorgeous Tim. I hope mine looks half as good.

Good to know that I'm in good company on Tim's waiting list. I think I'm about 2 years into the wait on my Sidewinder now. :)

Tim, Yeah, just your basic 5" Colt like the Taj Mahal is your basic brick building. Stunning work as usual. Most of us don't get requests for the squared trigger guard any more, but they sure do look classy.

Tim,

If that is just a basic 5" can I trade you a basic Timex vs. my Rolex that you have tried to talk me out of?

Very nice work!!!!!!!!!!

I think I have around 4-5 years to wait for mine. And around 2 years from a couple other smiths as well. You are killing me with these pictures. I have nothing new to add that everyone else has not already said, with the exception of my wife looked at this one and said that maybe I am not waisting my money. That is a huge thing for her to say. Fantastic work my friend.

From one who has already done his time to those of you who are waiting,
it is worth every minute of the wait.

Every time I shoot one of my stainless twins, I can't wipe the grin off my face for hours.

Good eye, Mark. That's exactly what this one was all about - kind of an old skool/new skool approach.

I don't think many people use the finger forward hold anymore at all, but I'm like you, Hany. Sometimes they just look nice.

Thanks Tom, & thanks to all for the kind comments. Every one of them means a lot.

Next up is an older LW Commander in 9mm. Personally, I think it came out pretty kewl.
