1965 Colt commercial Government model from the shop of one of foundation gunsmiths, Frank Pachmayr.

Who can spot the custom features? (only a few)

Wow Gary thats very cool, love the simplicity. I'll take a crack at the mods. Don't laugh if I 'blow it'.

1- Checkered front strap.
2- S&W adjustable revolver sights - very popular mod 'back then'.
3- Over size slide stop shaft - 2 piece. Paul Liebenberg still uses a similar mod on his pistols, he used to work for Frank Pachmayr.
4- Trigger job
5- 'Extended' guide rod (Not modern day 'full length')
6- Over size firing pin stop?? *shrugs*
7- Extended shelf on the slide safety

Wonderful piece of history!!

Close.

1. Stippled not checkered. Not too abrasive but very consistent
2. Micro sights that have been "dehorned"
3. Correct
4. But of course!
5. Spring loaded recoil buff spring guide
6. Maybe
7. Correct. Just enough to make it accesible but not obtrusive.

and

Welded and fit barrel with a nice beefy bushing. No Kart NM barrels available back then!

The only bad thing about #3 is the scratches from removing the C clip. P L at Pistol Dynamics doesnt use the C Clip.

It had a set of Pachmayr panels when I acquired it. Rubber is for..... well not pistol grips so I put on the old Commander grips. It Looked real nice with my ivories !

Nice looking pistol.
I have a pair of Giles conversions ( 45 and 38 special) that use the oversize slide stop pin. Mr Giles also installed a hardened bushing in the frame for the slide stop pin.
Thanks for posting, I always like to see those old Bullseye pistols.
