Besides complimenting you on another beautiful gun I just wanted to say that I wish you would market slide stops like the one on this gun. Really cool.

Sick Tim, just sick

I dig the HP cuts + ball cuts combo; just give the front of the slide a little more character.

Then on top of a HD leather riding jacket!

BTW, why the Accu-rails? Was there more slop that a weld and recut couldn't fix? Or customer request?

That is very nice! I have one more Series 70 that is untouched. I need to stop clicking on these threads cuz I need about 10 more so that each of the LTW smiths can work their magic.

I like the detail on the top serrations. That is very interesting how there is an arrow pattern in the serrations.

All of the LTW smiths keep raising the bar on custom 1911's.

Guys, One true pleasure about my little retail operation even though I cannot own :( the piece that passes through me to others. Those in the business know margins are barely enough to cover time and expense, but I can possess :) and see the work in the "metal" for lack of a better term. And that is why I do this :D :D :D

Great job.

I can't believe this one is mine. It has all the elements of an heirloom: clean, elegant, classic. Tim has a way of pushing the proverbial envelope while maintaining the classic lines of the battle-tested, time-proven 1911. While I gave Tim unlimited latitude on this build, when I saw the pics, it was as though he knew exaclty what I was looking for. He is a veritable genius. Thank you, Tim-- especially for your patience throught this build; I'm sure I drove you nuts.

As for the question regarding the accu-rails, Tim can field that question if he wishes. In that regard, I will only say that it was a little of both: need and customer request. Tim and I discussed accu-rails before he had a chance to inspect my gun because I was curious about them. See, I'm a have-my-cake-and-eat-it kind of guy, and I wanted the vault-like lock up of a Bear frame and slide on a slide bearing the O'l rampant horse, which screams American through and through. However, upon inspection of the piece, Tim suggested that we probably ought to rail the gun. Hope that answers you're question DEA.

I just wanted to add that I love the way you french border that high bevel on the bottom of the slide, add the ball cut, and terminate the hand rubbed finish in line with the dust cover ala bhp. Double Schwing!!!

She arrived. To say that it exceeded all of my expectations would be an understatement. The pics are impressive, but this thing must be seen in person to be appreciated. I'm unreasonably picky, but I just kind find anything to criticize on this one; there is nothing that I would have done differently. And it's not just the choice of modifications that make it so special, but the way the those modifications were executed. The detailing is just rediculous. The pics are neat because they highlight some of the modifications, but when you see it in person, you can appreciate their subtlety. "Clean" is the operative term. I should also point out that this is not just a pretty piece, you should see how it prints at 25 yds. Tim is a true master. Having owned customs by some of the most highly regarded smiths in this country, I feel more than qualified to give such an opinion. In sum, I may find it difficult to send my next one to anyone other than Tim. By the way, my dealings with Tim throughout the wait were excellent too: Tim is all-business yet accessible, steadfast in his professional opinions yet mindful of the customer's taste. Thanks, Tim. You rock!

I cannot even fathom some of the work that went into this piece. Being the son of journeyman machinist, I can appreciate it, but, the level of detail is unbelievable.

I am not sure what accurails are, but the top strap serrations with the arrow towards the front sight has got to be one of the coolest modifications I have ever seen and it makes perfect sense!

I have a Springer Mil Spec that is just dying to get that treatment...
