This was one of the SHOTguns that I didn't have time to get pictures posted of, before the show. It's built on an oversize Springfield slide and frame set with a Nowlin barrel. The slide features Heinie sights, serrated flat top with fluted border, serrated slide heel, ball cuts, French borders and a lower bevel. The client specified 20 lpi checkering on the frame and MSH, along with a round butt, CMC beavertail, Brown ambis, Heinie trigger, beveled mag well, C&S ignition parts and Davidson grips. All the edges were beveled and the pistol was polished to 1500 grit and blued. Enjoy the pics!

Mr. Harrison,

Every single time I see one of your pieces, I am in awe of your timeless, modern take on a classic design and your ability to improve on the lines of an already beautiful pistol.

Given my predisposition toward Springfield Armory hardware, this just makes it even better.

I am going to go broke if the 'smiths here on LTW keep this up...and my wife may use one on me!

Once again, thank you for your artistry and willingess to keep all of us upto date on your work.

Let's see...one pistol to Ted, one to John, one to Steve, one to Jason, one to Drake, one to CT and so on and so on and so on.... 8)

That is beautiful! The Davidson grips really help set off the sheer beauty of the gun. Are those the Horned Lizard grips?

It's a beauty. It's not often that you see 20LPI checkering these day, the slide stop is unique too.

I saw this one in person at the show, and it's even better than the pics suggest. I also saw Richard showing it off to a friend and he seemed delighted with the gun. John's a great 'smith and a teriffic guy.

John,

Great looking piece. I hope to get up your way for a visit in the next few weeks. Hope you had a good SHOT Show. I missed being there.

Rob

I don't mean to be nosey, but seeing how it's a NM frame and Mr. Heinie; I gotta ask: was that a Pro or FBI when you began?
It's stunning work-- I especially like the treatment to the slide stop.
I've gotta say though, not to steal thunder from Jason's "fighting gun" thread-- but this is another prime example of a top notch machine-- simple touch-ups to the lines, sophisticated round-butt, the slide machining, and a modest undercut really make the whole package.
For example: the "HD" signature flush plug is always a smart touch, but on this particular build, the simple 20lpi GI plug says "duty pistol" with authority.
Intriguing and classic all in one. I love it.

John is a better person than he is a smith...and he is one of the finest smiths around. That should tell you something. We had a great Shot Show and this one was one of the highlights.

I'm not the owner but John told me that it was a raw frame and slide. The gun was not a reincarnated Pro or FBI gun.

You know you have arrived when you build a gun for Dick Heinie!

Congrats to both of you guys.

John, I bet you double checked everything twice on this one

I look at a gun in a thread and make post on how beautiful it is. Then I see another thread and see another one that rivals the previous one. And so on.........

Then I see this one. To my eye, just the perfect blend in lines and form. Understated beauty with class and the "bite" behind her.

Congrats Mr Heinie.

Well done Mr Harrison.

Al
